Hello, I’m Danielle.

I believe in the internal wisdom of us women – we know what our bodies need and what to do with them. As a doula, I will assist you in honing your ear to that wisdom to ensure a birthing experience that aligns with your hopes, goals, and values.

I look forward to learning about your thoughts, preconceptions, and fears around birth so that I can tailor my support to you exactly. What stories have we been told about birth? When you envision your birth, what do you see? A big part of assuaging fear is knowledge. I can provide the physiological backdrop so you have a better understanding of what’s happening in your body now and what will be happening when that baby wants out.

Together, we’ll build a “plan” of sorts – what positions, words, music, touch, breathing exercises work for you to keep you calm and mindful during this beautiful transition our bodies were made to perform.

What I bring to the table is skillful adaptation – if you need to dance to some hip hop to get through this contraction, I’m two-stepping right there with you. If you’re feeling lost and frantic, I’m offering new positions, providing comforting touch, acting as a liaison between you and medical staff, and guiding you through affirmations and breath back, back to your body.

There is no one right way to be pregnant, to labor, to give birth, to feel postpartum. You are in the driver’s seat and I, your steady co-pilot. I provide non-judgmental, celebratory, dynamic support based on how you feel now and how you’ll feel in 10 minutes.

My service includes:

  • 2-3 prenatal visits
  • 24-hour on-call support beginning 2 weeks before your estimated due date
  • Continual physical and emotional support throughout labor and childbirth
  • Breastfeeding support
  • 1-2 postpartum visits
  • Phone and email support for up to 6 weeks postpartum
  • Referrals to any necessary services or information you may need

I start at OHSU in their Accelerated Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing to Nurse Midwifery program in the Summer of 2019. I’ll be a busy gal but am still committed to supporting families during this period. I look forward to working with families from my expanded base of knowledge!

Hablo español, y me encantaría trabajar con familias hispanohablantes.

I look forward to meeting you.
