As you consider Lactation Consultation as a profession, it is important to know which pathway you should take to sit for the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners certification examination:

Pathway 1 is intended for individuals who are recognized healthcare professionals and/or recognized Mother Support Counselors.

Pathway 2 is intended for graduates of recognized academic programs, including Birthingway’s Associate of Science in Lactation Consultation Program.

Pathway 3 is intended for candidates who have completed a mentored apprenticeship.
