My name is Erica Potter. I am a trained Labor and Certified Postpartum Doula through Birthingway College of Midwifery. I live in West Linn with my husband Derek and our two children, Evan and Ivy. I am retired preschool teacher and have loved my career for 15 years. Working in early childhood education has taught me so much about nurturing new families and helping strengthen the bonds between parents and children. Before teaching I led a very large Mommy and me group where I focused on teaching the importance of bonding and enjoying life with babies and toddlers. I’ve lead parent education groups with topics ranging from infant care to preschool meltdowns. In my spare time I love to explore nature as much as possible. I absolutely love to take advantage of Oregon’s beautiful summers by spending as much of my free time just enjoying my teenagers and backpacking, gardening, and taking walks with my dogs.

My dream to become a doula started when I had my second child Ivy. My friends and I were having our babies at the same time. I found myself sharing all that I had known about self care, emotional and physical care and the gentle art of caring for babies. I enjoyed bringing my friends natural remedies and home prepared meals, and at that point I realized that I had found my true passion and that was doula work. I see labor as the most miraculous event in a family’s life. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, I believe this to be true throughout pregnancy, labor, and beyond. I want to be a part of that village, to care for and support your family during this most precious time. As a postpartum doula, I want to help you redefine balance in your new life as a first time or tenth time parent. My goal is to help you feel confident and well rested so this time can be enjoyable and cherished. My many years teaching preschool has given me lots of experience working with siblings, giving them extra attention while playing games or reading books or just giving them extra support with their new baby. I love coming in and tiding up the house making things feel clean and cozy. I also love to cook. Please feel free to contact me.
