About the Class: Childbirth is a process that is unique to each woman and each baby and yet it holds a link to every woman who came to this place before. The goal of my 6-week series of preparation classes is to facilitate and guide women and/or couples in developing confidence, knowledge and wisdom in their own unique journey to parenthood. We will share in the basics of pregnancy and birth through video, art, games, discussion, and physical activities. We will focus on the physical and biological processes of pregnancy, labor and birth and the low-impact, low-intervention facilitation of the biodynamic model. Women are welcome participate at any time in pregnancy (6-8 months is typical) and are encouraged to bring a companion of their choice – spouse, partner, parent, doula, etc.

About the Instructor: I am the mother of five and grandmother of seven. I have been attending births for over 20 years, serving women as a doula. I am currently an extension student at Birthingway and am participating in an apprenticeship with a local midwife. I love to read and walk my dog, I love the beach and getting sand between my toes and I hope to learn to paint ‘when I grow up.’
