Good Financial Standing

Good financial standing means that all fees are paid when due. Tuition is due at time of registration for each term or as specifically stated in the Tuition Agreement. Textbook costs are payable when the order is placed. Library fines are due immediately upon presentation of the notification. Copy fees are due upon receipt of statement. Printouts from the student computer and long distance phone calls are due at the time of use. The Registration Form and Tuition Agreement clearly state the tuition and the terms for payment. These are legal and binding agreements between the student and the College.

It is in the student’s best interest to maintain good financial standing with the College for a variety of reasons. Students will not be allowed to register for a new term, have a transcript released, or graduate unless they are in good financial standing. A degree or certificate of midwifery will not be granted if there are balances owed regardless of the amount. Unpaid accounts will be referred for collection.

Student Accounts

Students will be invoiced for tuition not paid at registration per any agreements made with the College. Miscellaneous fees such as library fines, lab fees, or other fees not specifically addressed will be charged as they occur. Charges are due and payable upon receipt of statement.

Finance Charges/Late Fees

Late fees, also called finance charges, will be assessed against student account balances, based on 15% APR with a $5 minimum per month charged. Late fees will begin to accrue on the 11th day after the billing statement date and are retroactive to the due date. Statements will be provided at the beginning of every term or as necessary depending on account activity. Late fees will be retroactive to the date due.

An extension fee of $50 is charged each term in lieu of the registration fee until the student completes ALL graduation requirements. This fee is IN PLACE OF a registration fee.

Lunch

Each midwifery program student is expected to take a turn in providing lunch for their entire core class, approximately once every 10-12 weeks, depending on class size. Costs vary according to the lunch prepared, but anticipate an average cost of $30-35 per week that you bring lunch.

Midwifery Equipment

Students are required to purchase midwifery equipment for certain classes. Prices of equipment vary based on the quality of the equipment and where it is purchased.

Midwifery Program Textbooks

There are required texts for most midwifery program courses.

Reference copies of all required texts are available in the College library. It is highly recommended that students purchase as many as possible of the books read in class. Texts and other books can be purchased through the College prior to the beginning of each term; prepayment is required and non-refundable after the registration deadline.
